GIY Kit by Grow.bio
Traditional mushroom cultivation is hard, Grow.bio makes it easier by providing dehydrated material ready to activate. The Grow It Yourself™ Kit is one step easier for the first-time-grower by including all the necessary tools, mycelium material, and ingredients to successfully grow your first mycelium shape.
Along with designing the packaging, Grow.bio had a complete update of its graphic identity. The brand colors are fresh spin on the classic primary color palette commonly used in education. Combined with the shapes– all with overly rounded corners to make them more inviting— the Grow.bio branding and GIY Kit evoke “fun” with a modern spin.
The interior front lid says Grow.bio’s slogan “ Learn. Grow. Create.” because together we are learning about mycelium’s capabilities, strengths, real-world applications, growing the material is how we are able to study the organism mycelium, and by doing so we are creating three things: a physical object and proof point, excitement in the customer and the ripple effect through the maker community, and lasting change in the world as we continue to grow mycelium for suitable applications thus displacing plastic and reducing pollution.

When the customer opens the box, the inside is a left to right gradient of blue to yellow, bringing forth a strong green color as a contrast the the predominantly white exterior of the box.
To unite with fellow makers and MycoCommunity members, the bottom of the box contains a CTA and QR code to join our online community, post the customer’s project in the forum, and share the tips and tricks you’ve gathered over the growth process.
